Adopt Liselotte

Mixed Breed · Female

Our Lisel is urgently in search of a new home. Lisel is a very loving and cuddly female cat who enjoys the company of her people. When she meets someone new, she may initially be a bit reserved. However, once she has built trust, she becomes a loyal and clingy companion. Additionally, she is very clean and reliably uses her litter box. Liselotte was found outside and was brought to us. Unfortunately, it appears that no one has missed her, so she is now being further rehomed by us. Since she was found outside, we would like to give her the opportunity to have free roam in the future. In her new home, she should therefore be allowed to be a free-roaming cat. The kitten was originally found in Wackersberg and will not be rehomed to Wackersberg, as she likely knows the area well and may not return to the new home. The kitten has been with us at the animal shelter for some time. Unfortunately, she has started to excessively groom herself due to boredom, resulting in hair loss in certain areas. This is most likely a psychological cause. Various recommended measures have only marginally been able to curb the behavior. As an animal shelter, we serve as a stopover for our charges until they finally find their forever home. We strive to be as fair as possible to each animal and all its needs. Unfortunately, we cannot offer Lisel the environment she was accustomed to outside. Therefore, we are urgently seeking a suitable home for her. If you would like to offer this sweet female cat a warm dog bed, free roam, and lots of affection, please contact us! Gender: female Age: approximately 5 years neutered: likely yes vaccinated: yes husbandry:. This animal was surrendered to the shelter. This animal is not suitable for homes with children.

About Liselotte

What life with Liselotte looks like

Liselotte is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Bad Tölz in Bad Tölz.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Liselotte, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Liselotte?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Bad Tölz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Liselotte on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Liselotte if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Bad Tölz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Liselotte already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Liselotte isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Bad Tölz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Liselotte and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
