Adoption Requirements Adoption Process Request this Animal Now! Adoption Requirements Adoption Process Request this Dog Now! Little Pony has already experienced what it means to be completely alone in this world during her young life. She was simply abandoned and left to fend for herself. Despite this, she hasn't lost her trust in us humans, and we don't want to let her down—we'll do everything possible to help Little Pony find her forever family. The approximately one-year-old female dog is a real treasure. She shows great affection toward people, is loving and open-minded, and thoroughly enjoys any kind of attention. She also gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and even cats are completely natural companions for her. Standing about 60 cm tall at the shoulder and weighing around 30 kg, Little Pony is a stately dog. Little Pony is a livestock guardian dog mix; therefore, we're looking for people who already have experience with such dogs or are willing to learn about the characteristics of livestock guardians. These dogs are independent thinkers with strong personalities who stand loyally by their humans and form deep bonds. They need clear leadership and well-defined rules. Ideally, Little Pony would thrive in a rural environment without constant hustle and bustle, complete with a garden where she can call her own. It's likely that Little Pony has never experienced what it means to be part of a family and therefore isn't yet familiar with household rules. Little Pony still needs to learn the basics of dog behavior—and this is best done with love, patience, and consistency. She has a shortened tail and therefore cannot enter Switzerland. Little Pony travels to her new home neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and flea-treated. After a positive pre-adoption check, she will be placed in a new home against a protection fee and will of course come with an EU pet passport. A foster home would also be a wonderful option for Little Pony. Who will give this impressive young dog the chance at a new life filled with security and love? Many thanks, Andrea G.! Thanks to you, Little Pony has received a cute name and thus an identity. As of July 8, 2026 Further information on the topics of pre-adoption check and protection fee

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Little Pony

What life with Little Pony looks like

Little Pony is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Little Pony, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Little Pony?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Little Pony on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Little Pony if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Little Pony already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Little Pony isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Little Pony and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
