LIZEN

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 1 year

Year of birth: 2025. Lizen is only one year old, yet he has already experienced more suffering than many dogs do in their entire lives. He lost one eye, and the injury has also left a mark in the form of a deformed skull. Despite this, he hasn't lost what's most beautiful—his joy of life and his faith in people. He’s an incredibly cheerful, energetic, and loving dog who longs above all else to be close to humans. Every encounter with a familiar person is a real celebration for him—he leaps with joy and wags his tail as if he wants to make up for all the difficult moments he’s been through. Lizen loves walks, explores new places with curiosity, and eagerly discovers the world around him. He’s young, full of energy, and ready to start a new life by the side of a loving family. We’re looking for a home that will recognize his huge heart—a home that will show him that from now on, nothing but safety, love, and happiness await him. Lizen will repay that love with boundless trust and devotion.

About LIZEN

What life with LIZEN looks like

LIZEN is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze in Zielona Góra.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting LIZEN, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about LIZEN?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw LIZEN on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt LIZEN if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is LIZEN already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if LIZEN isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze early rather than rehoming privately; they know LIZEN and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
