Lizzy

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Lizzy Rasse: mixed breed Größe ca.: 20 cm (wachsend) Geboren ca.: April 2026 Geschlecht: female dog Aufenthaltsort: Debrecen (Ungarn) mit Hunden? verträglich mit Katzen? sicherlich verträglich house-trained? nein Beteiligung: 450,- Euro Lizzy is a charming mixed-breed female dog, born in April 2026. In June 2026, she measures about 20 cm and is just at the beginning of her young life. Her mother Finchen was rescued from a marginal area where dogs lived under very poor conditions. In a small niche under a hut, Finchen gave birth to her four puppies. Fortunately, the entire dog family was brought to safety in time and now has the chance for a better future. Lizzy shows herself to be a friendly, affectionate, and open-minded puppy. She loves the company of humans, at first a bit skeptical and clingy, and enjoys every bit of attention. At the same time, she is age-appropriately playful, curious, and full of explorer's joy. With her cheerful nature, she explores her surroundings day by day and wants to learn about the world. As a puppy, Lizzy of course still has to learn the basics of dog behavior. Leash training, housebreaking, and all the important rules of cohabitation must be taught to her by her future humans with patience and loving consistency. She brings, however, the best prerequisites to develop into a loyal and uncomplicated companion. Lizzy gets along well with other dogs, but is also initially cautious. We can also imagine a coexistence with cats; we would be happy to conduct a test if needed. As her development is not yet complete, we cannot predict her final size. For Lizzy, we are looking for a loving home where she can grow up protected and learn everything that belongs to a happy dog life. A securely fenced garden would be ideal for her, so she can play and explore the world to her heart's content, but is not a prerequisite. More important are people with hearts, time, and joy in helping a young puppy start a wonderful new life. BEACHTEN SIE:. Gets along with other cats.

About Lizzy

What life with Lizzy looks like

Lizzy is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutz-Pfote e.V. in Lohmar.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lizzy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lizzy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutz-Pfote e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lizzy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lizzy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutz-Pfote e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lizzy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lizzy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutz-Pfote e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lizzy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
