adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Originally, the sweet Lizzy came from Romania, where she lived in a kennel with other puppies. Shortly after arriving at her foster home, she quickly settled in and found living with humans really great. Lizzy is, as typical for a young pup, a whirlwind, just like they say in the books. She is a bit feisty, playful, friendly, and very interested in us humans and her fellow animals. Currently, she is learning her boundaries in living with us humans. She already runs well on a leash. However, at a high noise level, like on a busy street, she is still easily intimidated. Also, driving must still be practiced further, as she currently finds it quite scary. She is 8 months old and currently measures about 50 cm in height. She is expected to grow to a medium size. Lizzy is very active and loves to be on the move. Whether it's future sporting activities with her humans or extended play sessions with her doggy friends, Lizzy is up for anything. In her foster home, the feisty female dog lives in a family, which works smoothly. We wish for Lizzy a home in a quiet environment, far from the extreme street noise of a big city. In her first year of life, puppies should be as little alone as possible. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the little rascals' lives upside down. They "forget" often everything they have learned and their ears are on full blast. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to raise her consistently but lovingly. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Lizzy can be adopted after positive vaccination, microchipping, deworming, and flea treatment. Of course, she also brings her EU pet passport with her. Thank you, Markus W.! With your name sponsorship, Lizzy has the chance to have a happy, well-cared-for future. Date: 17.05. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped. This is a young, adolescent dog.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Lizzy

What life with Lizzy looks like

Lizzy is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lizzy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lizzy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lizzy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lizzy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lizzy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lizzy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lizzy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
