Adopt Lobo

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 2 months

*I am in Switzerland* Lobo is a charred young German Shepherd mix. Playful and happy where he feels secure. He is also eager to learn and wants to please. He already knows basic dog commands and goes well on a leash. The good Lobo is also a sensitive being. In some areas, he is still unsure. He is excited and happy with people. Generally, he gets along well with his fellow animals. Dog encounters on the leash can be more difficult for him. Because many things still unsettle him, he needs enough distance from stimuli to observe events from a safe distance. If he is too close, he feels threatened. This is also a typical sign of puberty. Therefore, a quiet home would be desirable for Lobo. Lobo needs dog-experienced, sensitive people and a safe and quiet guidance. A house with a garden would be nice, without children or other animals. A home where he can have plenty of rest to process his experiences. Lobo is four months old and came to Switzerland. He has lived with a family for the past few months and has already learned a lot. Now, Lobo is searching for his forever home, where he can be guided with patience and love, continue to learn, and grow up. A home where he is understood, and despite his challenges in puberty, is welcomed and loved. Lobo’s story: Packaged in a box, they deposited me and my siblings at the entrance of the shelter in Motril when we were about two months old and very shy. After a short time, we adapted well there.

About Lobo

What life with Lobo looks like

Lobo is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Hundehilfe Motril in St. Gallen.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lobo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lobo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundehilfe Motril handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lobo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lobo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundehilfe Motril will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lobo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lobo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundehilfe Motril early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lobo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
