Lola

Mixed Breed Β· Female

Lola came into our care after her previous owner reached out for help, as they were no longer able to cope with her needs. When she arrived, Lola was suffering from some quite uncomfortable skin and ear problems, along with a flea infestation. Thankfully, after just a few days of care and treatment, her skin and ears have already improved significantly, and she’s feeling much more comfortable. Lola also has dry eye in one eye, which will require long-term medication. Warrington Animal Welfare will help with the cost of this ongoing treatment. She is currently enjoying a fish-based diet while we continue to manage her skin condition, although we’re not yet certain whether her problems are allergy-related or linked to the fleas she had when she arrived. Despite everything, Lola is an incredibly sweet little girl who absolutely loves being around people. She’s happiest sitting beside you, soaking up attention and enjoying a lovely snuggle. She’s housetrained and has previously been left alone for a few hours without any problems. She’s also lived with a young child and was reportedly very well behaved around them. Lola can be a little hesitant when setting off for a walk, but once she gets going, she really enjoys herself and walks beautifully on the lead. Although she hasn’t previously lived with other animals, she has been introduced to another dog while in our care and showed no aggression or problems. She can initially be a little unsure around unfamiliar dogs, so calm, sensible introductions will be important. Lola’s ideal home will be with someone who can offer her plenty of love, company and understanding, along with a commitment to managing her ongoing medical needs. After a difficult start, this gorgeous girl is already showing us just how much love she has to give. Could you offer lovely Lola the comfortable, happy future she deserves? About Lola

What life with Lola looks like

Lola is an adult mixed breed dog waiting at Warrington Animal Welfare in Warrington.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lola, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lola?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Warrington Animal Welfare handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lola on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lola if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Warrington Animal Welfare will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lola already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lola isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Warrington Animal Welfare early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lola and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
