Adopt Lolek

Male · Young · 3 years

Bolek and Lolek arrived at the animal shelter along with other dogs as a result of an intervention. So far, they have only lived in the yard - they do not know a leash, walks or the rules of living in a house. Despite a difficult start, the dogs have already made great progress at the animal shelter. They are learning to walk on a leash, they are getting to know new situations and are gradually coping better with daily life. However, it should be taken into account that further consistent work will be necessary in a home environment. It is possible that they will have to be taught cleanliness and going out on walks from scratch. These are dogs that need a patient and aware caregiver, ready for the adaptation process. In situations of strong stress, they can react defensively - they defend themselves with their teeth. Therefore, we do not recommend them for a home with children. They will best find themselves in a calm, predictable environment, with adults who understand the specificity of dogs from shelters. They are very attached to each other and form real support for each other. They feel more secure in a pair, so we are looking for a shared home for them. With regard to other dogs, they show great interest, but can be persistent and may have difficulty reading calming signals. They require further socialization in controlled conditions. Bolek and Lolek need a responsible adoption - a home that will give them time, security and clear rules. In return, they offer loyalty and the potential to build a strong bond. We invite you for a meeting walk with Bolek and Lolke. The dogs are under the care of group G1.

Bolek i Lolek trafili do schroniska wraz z innymi psami w wyniku interwencji. W zamian oferują lojalność i potencjał do zbudowania silnej więzi. Zapraszamy na spacerek zapoznawczy z Bolkiem i Lolkiem. Psiaki pod opieką grupy G1.

About Lolek

What life with Lolek looks like

Lolek is a small young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Requires housetraining and leash training from basics. Defensive behavior under stress. Must be adopted together with bonded companion Bolek.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lolek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lolek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lolek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lolek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lolek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lolek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lolek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
