Lora

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Our animal rescuers report: The beautiful Breton mixed-breed female dog Lora was found alone with her three puppies in an abandoned farm near Lleida in August 2026. To protect the little family from the dangers on the road, she was allowed to move with her offspring to a foster home of the animal shelter. Here, all four must first recover from the hardships of their previous life. How Mama Lora coped before, we of course do not know. No one asked for her anyway, as is so often the case with the poor four-legged ones. The pretty Lora is a friendly dog that lovingly cares for her little ones. Since she still "feeds" them with her milk, she has not been spayed yet. Lora likes to be stroked - see the video - and scratched. However, she does not need any hustle in her vicinity, she is rather of the quiet sort. This can of course still change in a final home, if she has first really arrived. At the moment she enjoys the attention at the foster home, and we hope that she may not even have to move to the animal shelter. Lora already behaves very well on the leash. She is people-oriented, gets along well with her fellow dogs and is a friendly and approachable four-legged animal overall. At two years old, she still has her whole life ahead of her and should be allowed to spend it in a safe, loving environment. Lora is looking for patient and understanding people. She can be placed as a single dog or as a second dog. A cat test can take place at any time. The lovable dog should finally be happy and find her people forever. About Lora

What life with Lora looks like

Lora is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
