Lorette

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 20 years

The little Lorette was just eight weeks old when she had to move into the State animal shelter ASPA in Bucharest. A tiny puppy still, she found herself in a cage among more than 2,500 dogs. Her chances of being noticed were slim. That's why today is her big moment: Lorette, a beautiful black-and-white puppy girl, is searching for a forever home. Special features: Very loving and a slightly shortened tail. Lorette doesn't want to grow up in a cage, doesn't want to age there. She wants to play, run around, stuff herself with food, sleep in peace, and daydream when she feels like it. And Lorette longs for human affection. For cuddles and kind words, for walks together (she already accepts a collar and leash) and for excursions into nature. She might want to splash in a stream or swim in a lake, balance on tree trunks, roll in the grass, or play in the snow. She wants to play with other animals and would surely be a enthusiastic ABC advocate in dog training classes. And at night, she wants to sleep in a real dog bed. At a place that provides warmth and security. And peace. Lorette knows nothing of that. Yet she would so much like to be part of a family, to be a faithful companion, friend, and playmate. She would so much like to make her people laugh, at the very least smile. And she would so much like to give her heart. A little mouse could be happy in a family. The children should already be a little older and sensible, and be well guided by their parents. Lorette has nothing against dog company and even a cat could live in the household. Of course, the puppy girl would also feel comfortable with a couple or a single person. Only sufficient time would have to be available in any case. A young dog needs to be trained. With love and consistency. The rest is joy. If you fall a little in love with Lorette, if you might want to adopt her, or if you still have questions, please contact Lorette's representative. Write an email or call during the day. She looks forward to your call. Good luck to you, little Lorette. May your human find you. © 2006-2024 by Tierschutzverein Europa e.V. - All rights reserved

About Lorette

What life with Lorette looks like

Lorette is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lorette, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lorette?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lorette on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lorette if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lorette already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lorette isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lorette and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
