adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Lotta has found her own home! Her story: The charming Lotta is a little girl dog who proves that even after a bumpy start, the sparkle can't be lost. Lotta came from Pata, a tough neighborhood on the Cluj landfill. There she fought her way through everyday life with her mother Ria and her siblings Knuffi, Booster, Cosmo, Yoomee, and Pepsi. The constant danger of losing contact with her mother in the rough terrain is now thankfully over. Since moving to Fantanele, Lotta has blossomed and is eagerly waiting to finally move into a real home. Lotta is visually a real eye-catcher: Her fluffy fur sports a chic combination of black, brown, and white, and who can resist this incredibly cute button nose? At 3 months old, she is currently about 30 cm tall and weighs 6 kg. As Mama Ria is a rather small (Terrier) mix female dog, Lotta is expected to reach a comfortable, maximum medium size. Character-wise, she is a gem: She loves being very close to people, climbs onto laps for cuddles, and generously gives wet dog kisses. She gets along famously with her fellow animals, and cats have not been tested. Whoever takes Lotta in will bring a lot of joy, but of course, also a bit of work into the home. During the puppy phase, she needs people who take her by the paw and patiently show her how the world works. One should keep in mind that the sweet baby phase will be followed by puberty – a time when ears might want to take a break and the world outside the four walls suddenly becomes much more exciting than any command. With good dog training classes and a portion of humor, this "construction phase" can be mastered wonderfully. Also, being left alone needs to be learned. Lotta is extremely people-oriented and has already learned the fear of loss in her early childhood. She should therefore not be left alone in the first year; the training for this must be built up in very small steps after an intensive adaptation period. She needs the security that her people will never leave her. Lotta travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with her EU pet passport in her luggage. Many thanks to Romaine S.! You gave Lotta her name and thus paved the way to a happy future. As of: 06.02.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 06.02.2026

About Lotta

What life with Lotta looks like

Lotta is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lotta, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lotta?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lotta on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lotta if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lotta already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lotta isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lotta and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
