Lottie

Female · Adult · 4 years

Lottie is a lovely girl, who loves to make friends both human and dogs alike! She loves a sniffy walk and a cuddle on the sofa in the evening, so will make a wonderful companion. She does have some medical that we will discuss with potential adopters, but this doesn't stop her at all! She loves life, and loves everyone she meets. Though Lottie loves an informal fuss, she can find veterinary handling a bit worrying - as she has been poked and prodded before - so for more invasive checks, may need muzzling (but who can blame her!). Overall, she is a perfect girl! Meet gorgeous girl, Lottie! Lottie is a 4-year old Legotto Romagnolo looking for her forever home. Lottie is a sweet girl, who gets excited to see her people and loves a fuss! She wouldn't mind living with a calm, polite dog that is happy to partake in a little bit of play. Lottie would prefer for all children to be of older secondary school age, as she does have some soreness that is being managed. Lottie absolutely loves her food, and thoroughly enjoys a bath. She travels well in the car and walks well on the lead, though, won't need a huge amount of exercise due to having some pain in her legs - we can discuss this in further detail with any potential adopters. Lottie can live with cats following sensible intros, as she has done in the past with no issues. Lottie is a gorgeous girl who is such a sweetheart, and has a lot of love to give. We can't wait to see her in her forever home!

About Lottie

What life with Lottie looks like

Lottie is a extra-large adult dog waiting at Dogs Trust Cardiff in Cardiff.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lottie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lottie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Cardiff handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lottie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lottie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Cardiff will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lottie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lottie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Cardiff early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lottie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
