LOYD

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 7 years

LOYD was found in a village, presumably abandoned by someone. His left eye is smaller and it is unclear if he can see with it, but this does not limit him in any way. None of the villagers knew the extremely friendly dog. So he moved to the shelter of the animal rights activist Bea and is waiting from there for his new people. People who will never leave him behind again and will lovingly care for LOYD in the future. To be able to travel to Germany, LOYD needs a rescue sponsorship of 250.00. Further information can be found at the end of the text or on the association's homepage: de/helfen/patenschaften/ (please copy the link). LOYD could make his way to Germany soon. Of course, we are still looking for a suitable and great place for him with loving people with family ties for good. LOYD longs so much to be part of a family and to share life with his people. He is a happy, friendly and always loving dog who also gets along well with his fellow dogs. All around a great guy who puts a smile on your face with his loving nature. We are looking for a loving and reliable home for LOYD, which has the necessary time and understanding for a dog from abroad. LOYD would certainly enjoy a visit to a dog school that works with positive reinforcement. He could also make contact with other dogs carefree. His mediator Iris Lücke is looking forward to your inquiry at 98 or by email to i.luecke-animale.de. You can also apply directly via our self-disclosure, which you can find here: www.casa-animale.de/vermittlung/selbstauskunft (copy the link and paste it in a new window). LOYD will be neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and chipped with an EU pet passport after a positive preliminary check for a fee of 500.00. A 4DX Snap Test for Mediterranean diseases will be carried out before departure. LOYD will not be placed in kennel or outdoor housing. About LOYD

What life with LOYD looks like

LOYD is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Casa Animale e.V. in Gefrees.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting LOYD, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about LOYD?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Casa Animale e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw LOYD on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt LOYD if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Casa Animale e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is LOYD already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if LOYD isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Casa Animale e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know LOYD and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
