Kontess

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 6 years

Kontess is a very special female dog, a quiet heroine of the street. She is approximately 4 to 6 years old, about 60 cm tall, and had lived freely and contentedly on the street for a long time. There, she knew life, people, and everyday routine, until one day everything changed and the dog catchers came. For Kontess, a moment of fear and uncertainty began, but she had good fortune. Attentive neighbors could not look away, acted, and thus saved her life. Thanks to them, Kontess is now in safety and lives in a private shelter with her trusted companion Oli. Despite everything she has experienced, Kontess has never lost her big heart for people. On the contrary, she is a friendly, cheerful, and incredibly lovable female dog who seeks human company, enjoys cuddles, and with her calm, open nature immediately wins hearts. Kontess is uncomplicated, balanced, and meets new situations with wonderful composure, as if she understood that life can also have good sides. She is neutered, healthy, and ready to find a home. Kontess longs more than anything for a warm, safe, and loving home, a place where she no longer has to worry about her life but can simply be a dog. Who will give this brave soul the chance at a new life? Kontess waits with hope in her eyes and a lot of love in her heart. If you want to learn more about our lovely Kontess, feel free to contact us and tell us a little about your living situation and how Kontess would fit into it. Kontess can hardly wait to finally become part of a loving family. Kontess is neutered, microchipped, regularly dewormed, and fully vaccinated. She will be passport-ready from May 27, 2026. The Mediterranean disease test was negative. Contact:

About Kontess

What life with Kontess looks like

Kontess is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Pfotenhilfe Antalya in Ansbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kontess, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kontess?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pfotenhilfe Antalya handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kontess on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kontess if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pfotenhilfe Antalya will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kontess already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kontess isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pfotenhilfe Antalya early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kontess and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
