Lua

Rottweiler · Female · Adult · 4 years

Lua, a small Rottweiler female, was surrendered to our veterinarian in southern Spain. We do not know the reason for this or her history at the time. We immediately took Lua in and then brought her to Germany in 2024. Lua returned after a very short time because she did not fit into the family. Lua is currently in a foster home in Bavaria, where she is being trained and worked with. Lua can be demanding and a bit stubborn, but with all the charm she exudes, she has a thick skin behind her "Rottweiler ears", and she is not as cute and harmless as she seems, she needs clear guidelines, education and fixed routines. Lua is a wild girl and very active, wants to be exercised daily. We are looking for a quiet single place with dog-experienced people who can deal with her and exercise her, are patient and give her the time she needs to be able to live well in a normal environment. Children and seniors should not be in the household. We wish for Lua active, firm, athletic people with a lot of dog experience (preferably with Rottweilers). If you would like to give Lua a caring home, please send your completed self-assessment to The deposit fee is 500€.

About Lua

What life with Lua looks like

Lua is a small adult rottweiler dog waiting at Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lua, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lua?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lua on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lua if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lua already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lua isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lua and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
