Lucas

Male · Young · 1 year

Could you be my perfect match? Hello! My name is I can live with Dogs Cats Children MY story Lucas arrived with us recently from Romania. He has landed in foster with a bang and not looked back.He is a happy and confident little boy who is so ready to find his forever home.Unfortunately Lucas was found in Romania with horrific wounds to his front leg. He was taken to a vet but unfortunately the leg could not be saved. So he is our little tripod boy.He does not let only having 3 legs stop him. He charges around the garden faster than most of the other foster dogs. Even if he trips up he is straight into a barrel roll and off he goes again. Lucas is young and full of energy. He is in the go constantly so if you’re looking for a calm dog then Lucas is not for you. He would suit an active family who are happy to keep him busy and go on plenty of walks. Lucas is house clean and crate trained. This little dog is just full of personality and loves life. Which despite all he has been through is a miracle. MY PERFECT HOME Lucas will need a secure garden with 6ft fencing minimum and no gaps at all. As with all dogs on going training will be needed. Lucas can live with other dogs, cats and children 8+. OUR ADOPTION PROCESS 1 Fill in application form Please fill in the form as honestly as possible. Our team will read the application and make sure it is the right match for the dog being applied for. 2 We will arrange a home check If you and the dogs seem a good fit we will call you to discuss further, arrange to meet the dog and arrange a physical home check at your home. 3 Matched with your dog Once we have agreed together that this is the right dog for you we will arrange for your dog to come to you. Depending whether this is via kennels or foster homes it may vary. 4 Ongoing Support We love to keep in touch with everyone and hope you will reach out if you have any concerns or questions. We work with a number of local trainers and behaviourists too who can provide support. About Lucas

What life with Lucas looks like

Lucas is a small young adult dog waiting at Angels 4 Dogs Rescue in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lucas, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lucas?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Angels 4 Dogs Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lucas on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lucas if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Angels 4 Dogs Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lucas already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lucas isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Angels 4 Dogs Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lucas and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
