Animal Shelter Paws-Patas Update April 13, 2026: Lucia is a beautiful Podenco female with a strong character. She has a lot of energy and likes to go for walks with you, but also long walks where she can get rid of her excess energy. Mental challenges would also be good for Lucia. She is very playful and enjoys running after something or just running around. Lucia does not get along well with other dogs and therefore is in the animal shelter alone in a kennel. Dogs that are alone often have it especially hard in the animal shelter. Lucia was tested with cats, but that absolutely does not work. For Lucia, we are looking for an active, energetic owner without other pets. We are also not willing to place her with small children. Lucia is a fantastic dog that deserves a chance with an own owner, where she can continue to grow and enjoy getting rid of her energy and playfulness. Video added. March 9, 2026: New photos added. Input October 19, 2025: Lucia was found when our colleagues were in a nearby village. She was walking around the bus and they thought she was injured because her backside was completely covered in blood. When we had cleaned her thoroughly, it turned out she was just in heat. She was very tired and hungry and had lost weight. After a few days, she became cheerful and started exploring everything. Lucia has a gentle and affectionate character. She likes to get attention and loves people. She walks nicely on a leash. Of course, she still has a lot to learn. We suspect she was dumped by the hunters because the hunting season has started. She likes attention, cuddles, and play. She wants to meet other dogs but sometimes barks at some. Maybe this is some uncertainty, especially towards larger dogs. She does not know what toys are but is slowly starting to play with them. This week she will be spayed and her blood tests came back negative. Lucia would love to lie on your couch, she is a friendly person who likes to be there so she does not miss anything. And she can't wait for her own family that will treat her lovingly. A really nice girl. Not tested with cats and children. No problems with dogs.

Asiel Paws-Patas 4 juni 2026: Gereserveerd via het asiel Update 13 april 2026: Lucia is een prachtig Podenco dametje met een sterk karakter. Ze heeft veel energie en gaat graag met je mee wandelen, maar dan ook lekker flinke wandelingen waar ze haar overtollige energie in kwijt kan. Ook mentale uitdagingen zouden goed zijn voor Lucia. Ze is erg speels en vindt het leuk achter iets aan te rennen of zelf lekker rondjes te rennen. Lucia is niet goed met andere honden en zit daarom in het asiel alleen in een kennel. Hondjes die alleen zitten hebben het vaak extra zwaar in het asiel. Lucia is getest met katten, maar dat gaat absoluut niet samen. Voor Lucia zoeken we een sportieve, energieke baas zonder andere huisdieren. Met kleine kinderen durven we haar ook niet te plaatsen. Lucia is een fantastische hond die een kans verdient op een eigen baasje, waar ze verder kan groeien en heerlijk haar energie en speelsheid bij kwijt kan. Ze was om de bus aan het rond lopen en ze dachten dat ze gewond was omdat haar achterste helemaal onder het bloed zat. Toen we haar helemaal hadden schoongemaakt bleek dat ze gewoon loops was. Ze was erg moe en hongerig en vermagerd. Na een paar dagen werd ze vrolijk en begon alles te verkennen. Lucia heeft een zachtaardig en lief karakter. Ze krijgt graag de aandacht en is gek op mensen. Ze wandelt al keurig netjes mee aan de riem. Ze moet natuurlijk ook nog wel veel leren. We vermoeden dat ze gedumpt is door de jagers omdat het jachtseizoen is begonnen. Ze houdt van aandacht, knuffelen en spelen. Ze wilt graag kennis maken met andere honden maar naar sommige kan ze ook blaffen. Mischien is dit toch wat onzekerheid, naar vooral de grotere honden. Ze weet niet wat speelgoed is maar langzaam aan begint ze daar ook mee te spelen. Ze wordt deze week gesteriliseerd en haar bloedtesten kwamen negatief terug. Lucia zou het heerlijk vinden om bij je op de bank te liggen, ze is een allemansvriend vriend die er graag bij is zodat ze niks mist. En ze kan niet wachten op haar eigen familie die haar liefdevol zullen behandelen. Een echt lief meisje. Met katten is ze niet getest en kinderen ook niet. Met honden voorzien wij geen problemen.
