Adopt Lucky & Hardy

Male · Young · 3 years

Lucky (white face) and his big brother Hardy (dark fur by the right eye) were born in February 2023 and are currently still in Spain. As babies, they were rescued from a heavily trafficked parking lot, where they were in great danger. The two brothers are inseparable and do everything together. They sleep close to each other, eat together, groom each other thoroughly, share their toys, and get into mischief together. Both are very affectionate large cats with wonderful personalities and are very active. Lucky is a cheeky and crazy curious young man, while his brother is initially a bit shy and simply sweet and affectionate. Since their rescue, they have been living together in a foster home and will only be rehomed as a pair. Both tomcats are already neutered. Upon entry, they will be vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested for FIV and FeLV. Who will give this inseparable duo a loving home?

About Lucky & Hardy

What life with Lucky & Hardy looks like

Lucky & Hardy is a large young adult cat waiting at Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lucky & Hardy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lucky & Hardy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lucky & Hardy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lucky & Hardy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lucky & Hardy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lucky & Hardy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lucky & Hardy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
