adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Lucky has found his people! His story: Bistrita, Romania. Our little Lucky is searching for his big happiness! For he hasn't had as much happiness as a little young male dog his age deserves. Who still has a spot in their heart and arm free and will take our little hero into their care? Who is looking for a little dog who longs for proper cuddle sessions. Plus, who can resist that look? This little male dog was abandoned and found alone on the street. We were lucky to bring him to safety quickly, and he was also given a fitting name by a nice person. What's missing for his great happiness? His very own dog bed, his very own environment, his very own family. Lucky is about 5 months old and will remain a little companion. Currently, he weighs delicate 3 kg and is expected to maintain a light weight and size as an adult. Lucky is already spending time in a foster home and enchants his surroundings with his open, warm, and playful nature. He is very curious for his age and wants to explore and discover everything around him. Like many little dogs, he has more energy within him, but once this energy is expended, Lucky loves to snuggle and sleep on his person's belly. As long as the hand is always near the little protégé's body and rewards him with plenty of cuddles. We have already very much taken the little male dog into our hearts. Through the foster home, he knows other dogs and cats and shows himself as a model roommate there. So he is ready for everything that awaits him in his new home. Age-appropriate, there are still some home tasks to do. The dog-1×1 must still be taught to him with a positively reinforcing training style – starting with walking on a leash, sit, down, come. If you decide on a young dog, these are challenges that you will tackle with a healthy portion of patience, love, and friends. Additionally, puberty is still on the horizon, and it doesn't matter whether it's a person or an animal, this will be a challenging time. But be reassured, this phase will pass, and with a positive, consistent, but especially loving approach, the time will fly by. Lucky will thank you for it. If you are looking for a sweet, friendly, and lively companion, then Lucky might be just right for you. If you decide on him, he will come to you like all our protégés microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He brings his EU pet passport with him and can look forward to a new life. He is already sitting on his packed suitcase and is ready! Many thanks to Daniela, who gave Lucky his name.

Vielen Dank Daniela, du hast Lucky seinen Namen geschenkt.

About Lucky

What life with Lucky looks like

Lucky is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lucky, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lucky?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lucky on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lucky if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lucky already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lucky isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lucky and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
