Lucy and Clover

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Hello! We’re Lucy and Clover, and although you might think we look very similar, there’s one easy way to tell us apart… Lucy has the little legs! 🐾 We aren’t related, but we’re the very best of friends. We’ve come from a multi-dog household and, after sharing our lives together, we’re now ready to find a home of our own where we can settle in, relax and enjoy all the good things life has to offer. If you’d like to know more about our background, our friends at the centre will be happy to chat with you. Clover is around 1 year old and is the more confident of the two of us, while Lucy is thought to be around 3 years old. We both absolutely adore people and, of course, food! Lucy especially loves her cuddles, although she can be a little nervous when being handled at first. Give her a little time to get to know you, though, and she’ll soon be building a lovely bond with you. We’ve had quite a sheltered life, so we’re definitely homebodies at heart. We’re now feeling much more confident walking on lead, although we haven’t quite mastered the art of walking in a straight line yet! We’d love a secure garden where we can potter around, run, play and enjoy some freedom. Walks and exploring the big wide world may come with time, but for now, we’re perfectly happy enjoying the comforts of home. Once we’re settled, we may be able to cope with being left for a few hours, but we’ll need everything to be built up gradually. We’re both very enthusiastic eaters and tend to inhale our meals, so we’ll need some management around food while we learn that we don’t need to compete with each other. We can also have the occasional little sisterly squabble… but honestly, who doesn’t fall out with their siblings every now and again?! We’d prefer to be the only dogs and pets in the home, where we can have all the attention to ourselves. We’ve got plenty of love, cuddles and laughs to give and we can’t wait to find someone who will give us the time and patience we need to continue growing in confidence. Could you be the home where these two best friends can truly settle and enjoy life together? 💚

About Lucy and Clover

What life with Lucy and Clover looks like

Lucy and Clover is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Jerry Green Dog Rescue in Lincoln.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lucy and Clover, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lucy and Clover?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Jerry Green Dog Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lucy and Clover on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lucy and Clover if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Jerry Green Dog Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lucy and Clover already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lucy and Clover isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Jerry Green Dog Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lucy and Clover and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
