Lucy & Zorro

European Shorthair · Male · Kitten · 5 months

Lucy & Zorro were brought to us together with their mother. The mother cat has since been able to leave, and now the little ones are looking for their forever home. As is typical for their age, they are very curious and playful. Both are very people-oriented and enjoy being picked up, petted, and cuddled. Please note: our Zorro can never be close enough to people and happily climbs up onto your shoulder now and then! At the moment they live in our "kindergarten" group, and they get along wonderfully with the other young cats as well as with our adult "caretaker" Flocky. Since we do not place our kittens as single cats, they can be adopted as a pair, can move out together with another young cat from our group, or can go to a young, playful cat already living in the home. The main thing is that they are not alone and have a playmate. They are already fully vaccinated and ready to move out. At the appropriate age, the kittens will later be neutered at the association's expense.

About Lucy & Zorro

What life with Lucy & Zorro looks like

Lucy & Zorro is a kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Ludwigshafen in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lucy & Zorro, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lucy & Zorro?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Ludwigshafen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lucy & Zorro on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lucy & Zorro if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Ludwigshafen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lucy & Zorro already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lucy & Zorro isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Ludwigshafen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lucy & Zorro and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
