adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! If you meet Luisa, you would hardly believe what lies behind her. She seeks the closeness of people, enjoys attention, and relishes every form of affection. She likes to play, is clingy, and builds a close bond with her trusted people. Throughout her life, however, it was anything but carefree. For years, Luisa was seen alone on the streets around Bologa. People knew her there, and they knew she had a owner somewhere, but they also saw her deteriorating condition. When she was finally rescued, it was clear why. Luisa had been used as a breeding dog for a long time. She was repeatedly made to have puppies while she herself was pushed into the background. When she was finally brought to safety, she was in a physically poor condition. The police were involved, but what became of the former owner is still unknown. Despite everything, Luisa has not given up on her people. She greets them friendly and seeks contact. During her time on the streets, she showed herself to be compatible with other dogs. Whether she knows cats is not known. Currently, she is also being treated for a chronic conjunctivitis. Since Luisa lives outdoors and is constantly exposed to dust and scent, this condition can only be controlled to a limited extent. A home would be very helpful for her in this regard. Luisa displays many traits that lovers of this breed particularly appreciate. She is very people-oriented, clingy, and enjoys every form of attention. Despite everything she has experienced, she has maintained her friendly nature and seeks the closeness of her people. She wants to belong, participate in everyday life, and finally experience what it feels like to be not just tolerated but loved. For Luisa, we wish for people who are aware of the special needs of this breed. People who can give her the time, care, and security she has long missed. Luisa is an American Staffordshire Terrier. This animal was abandoned.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Luisa

What life with Luisa looks like

Luisa is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luisa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luisa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luisa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luisa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luisa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luisa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luisa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
