Adopt Luise

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 3 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Luise has found her home! Her story: Cluj, Romania. A 35 cm tall and 8 kg heavy bundle of energy waits to be discovered by you. She is Luise, a truly charming puppy. With her black-brown fur and white blaze, she is a real looker. She is likely to grow to medium size. Curious, she looks at the world. Not at all shy, full of energy and curiosity. She is a typical puppy, very playful. She gets along well with people and other dogs. With her open nature, she charms everyone with her paws. That's why we assume she will also get along with cats. Luise was born together with her sister Clara on a military base. The other puppies were taken away from their mother on-site. Even the mother was not allowed to be taken by our animal welfare workers, as they had no rights to do anything there. At least they were able to castrate the mother. Now, the little Luise waits in her Romanian foster home for an application. Luise is looking for people who don't expect anything from her and show her how a normal dog life works. She is still a baby and has a lot to learn. One or two mishaps shouldn't be held against her, and Luise should always be guided with a positive training style. She is looking forward to her new life with nature walks, lots of snuggling, and also a visit to puppy school. Puppies should not be left alone as much as possible in their first year of life. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the little rascals' lives upside down. They "forget" much of what they have learned so far, and their ears are on full alert. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to train consistently but lovingly. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Luise has her carry-on packed. She travels microchipped, vaccinated, flea-treated, and dewormed. She also has her EU pet passport in her carry-on. Luise can be adopted for an adoption fee of 450 Euros, after a positive application. Natalie, you have already paved the way for Clara to an unbothered future with your namesake sponsorship. She looks forward to your application. Many thanks, Natalie!

About Luise

What life with Luise looks like

Luise is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luise, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luise?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luise on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luise if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luise already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luise isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luise and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
