adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Luke can stay forever in his foster home! 44359 Schwieringhausen. Luki can travel to his foster home in mid-March! His story: Fantanele, Romania. It's hard to believe, but our Luki grew up in a basement. Concerned neighbors heard him barking repeatedly and eventually spoke to the owner. The owner then entrusted Luki to our care. Finally, sunlight, grass under his paws, and a life! This was something Luki had not experienced before. For now, he had to stay in a paid accommodation in unsightly outbuildings. We hope so much that Luki will soon find his happiness and feel love and security! Luki is approximately 2.5 years old and brings a beautiful, medium size with 55 cm and 25 kg. He is described as calm and very friendly. Luki has not lost his trust in people, he loves being stroked and spending time with two-legged beings. He also shows himself to be compatible with other dogs. Our helpers see him despite his past as a simple dog. For Luki, we are looking for people who will help him forget his past and show him how beautiful life is and what there is to experience beyond a basement. We could imagine that he would enjoy participating in sports activities, but also be mentally stimulated. Luki does not know an appropriate life and must learn everything anew. He looks forward to his people taking his paw and studying the Dog ABC with him. Luki has missed so much – it's time for his life to be enriched! It's important to us that he is raised with a positive reinforcement training style, because he has truly suffered enough in his life. Our Luki is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea treated. He brings an EU pet passport and is waiting for you – are you ready? Many thanks, Susanne F.! Your sponsorship was the starting gun for a new life!

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Luke darf für immer in seiner Pflegestelle bleiben! 44359 Schwieringhausen.

About Luki

What life with Luki looks like

Luki is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
