Adopt Luky

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

Luky has struggled greatly to adapt to the animal shelter. The stress and sadness of being abandoned were taking their toll… he lost weight, and he had an open wound on his little paw that wouldn't heal. But Luky is a small fighter. With time, care, and affection, he began to regain his strength and confidence. Today, his wound is healed, and he has learned to feel safe and loved at the animal shelter. Luky is a 4-year-old, small-sized dog (not reaching 10 kg). He is affectionate, but he also has a very particular personality: he is very active, nervous, and needs a family with experience, one that can understand him and channel his energy well. Sometimes, if he is touched unexpectedly or too persistently, he may react badly, but when he is calm and feels secure, he is pure love. He dreams of finding a patient family that can give him the stability, affection, and activity he needs. Will you be the one to teach him that love can also bring calm?

About Luky

What life with Luky looks like

Luky is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Protectora Malaga in Málaga.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Reactive when touched unexpectedly or pressured, needs patient handling approach

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luky, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luky?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Protectora Malaga handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luky on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luky if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Protectora Malaga will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luky already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luky isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Protectora Malaga early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luky and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
