Adopt LUNA

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 7 years

LUNA arrived with her two puppies, Timmy and Mino, at our shelter in late June, where we could lend a hand with their upbringing. The approximately seven-year-old female dog shows confidence and sovereignty at our shelter. Nothing seems to rattle her, and she enjoys her daily life at our shelter, where she is now fully taken care of. She gets along well with her fellow animals and can therefore enjoy the large field with her friends. She also walks well on a leash. However, when she sees another dog, she sometimes pulls because she likes to make contact. She still needs to learn to orient herself by the human and accept boundaries. Overall, LUNA is more of an independent and self-reliant dog. She rarely seeks help from humans and we don’t get the impression that she was accustomed to cooperating with us two-legged beings in her previous life. Additional herding dog genes ensure that she is also very self-reliant. LUNA was already allowed to stay overnight with our volunteers in their apartment and showed herself to be quiet, composed, and sovereign there as well. She did not need any guidance from a human and could find her way around independently. Her new owners should look forward to a dog who has its own mind but is charming and unflustered by life. With patience, love, and the necessary competence regarding possible genetic traits, LUNA will certainly become a great companion. To do justice to Luna’s independent nature, we see her best suited in a rural environment with access to a yard or garden. The right know-how and the willingness to offer this sovereign personality the appropriate guidance would be a great prerequisite for adoption. The adoption fee includes, among other things, transportation, a veterinary examination, high-quality safety harness, parasite prevention, and a SNAP test for various Mediterranean diseases (starting from the 10th month). If you are interested in our this breed, but need more information or have questions, feel free to send us an email or use our contact form via the button on the left.

About LUNA

What life with LUNA looks like

LUNA is a large adult mixed breed cat waiting at Arche Noah Transilvania e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting LUNA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about LUNA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Arche Noah Transilvania e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw LUNA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt LUNA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Arche Noah Transilvania e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is LUNA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if LUNA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Arche Noah Transilvania e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know LUNA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
