LUNA EN ADOPCIÓN

Female · Senior · 10 years

Luna is a 10-year-old Mastiff who arrived at the shelter carrying the weight of a life of misery, indifference, and being of little importance to anyone. She has a sad and tired look, and also has some terrible tumors on her breasts and chest. She underwent surgery to sterilize and remove the tumors, and the results are that they are benign! 👏💪 After several stays at the shelter, Luna returned but wouldn't eat, she was very apathetic despite the improved blood work, so Luna went to a foster home for closer monitoring. We believe the problem was that Luna was depressed, sad😟 because after a few days surrounded by affection, she seems different, eats and is happy☺️ with the humans and dogs in the foster home. But she can't stay in this home, her foster care ends in a few days and we don't want her life to end at the shelter, we want her to finally meet a family that looks at her with love, a soft bed to rest her grandmother's body, quiet walks, and the security of feeling loved❤️

ES·Show original

About LUNA EN ADOPCIÓN

What life with LUNA EN ADOPCIÓN looks like

LUNA EN ADOPCIÓN is a large senior dog waiting at Asociación Animalejos in Spain.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting LUNA EN ADOPCIÓN, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about LUNA EN ADOPCIÓN?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Asociación Animalejos handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw LUNA EN ADOPCIÓN on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt LUNA EN ADOPCIÓN if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Asociación Animalejos will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is LUNA EN ADOPCIÓN already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if LUNA EN ADOPCIÓN isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Asociación Animalejos early rather than rehoming privately; they know LUNA EN ADOPCIÓN and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
