Luna

Husky · Female · Adult · 6 years

Siberian Husky Luna—ready for her happy ending! Recently, Luna was able to leave the Spanish animal shelter behind and is now showing more and more each day at her temporary home just how wonderful a dog she truly is. This lovely husky lady is a cheerful, open, and incredibly people-oriented soul. She loves cuddling, cherishes every bit of attention, and approaches new situations with curiosity and fearlessness. Anyone who gets to know Luna quickly realizes: she simply wants to be there and enjoy life together with her humans. Full of husky energy, she’s playful and adores squeaky toys. She gets along wonderfully with both female and male dogs and would also feel right at home as a second dog. She approaches her fellow canines in a friendly manner and happily seizes every opportunity for playtime together. Even in everyday life, Luna already does many things right. She’s house-trained, travels smoothly by car, enjoys being brushed, and remains completely relaxed even during bath time. When it comes to food, she’s easygoing and shows absolutely no signs of food aggression. She handles walks in busy environments with ease—cars, buses, bicycles, or other environmental stimuli don’t faze her at all. Of course, Luna also brings her breed-typical characteristics with her. Currently, she still pulls a bit on the leash, and her recall isn’t yet fully reliable. Outdoors, she simply has her charming husky head and sometimes finds exciting smells or new impressions more interesting than her own name. It’s not always easy for her to calmly switch off, but she’s learning something new every day and making great progress. Luna is looking for active people who are eager to embark on shared adventures and provide her with both physical and mental stimulation. Experience with huskies isn’t mandatory, but a willingness to learn about the unique characteristics of this wonderful breed is definitely essential. Like every rescue dog, Luna comes with a little “backpack” of quirks and challenges. With time, patience, loving consistency, and understanding, however, she’ll grow into a loyal companion who will delight her people anew every single day with her joyful nature. If you believe that Luna is exactly the dog who could enrich your life, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with her assigned adoption counselor. Here’s the link to Luna’s video!

DE·Show original

About Luna

What life with Luna looks like

Luna is a adult husky dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
