Luna

Husky · Female · Adult · 5 years

Trust issues (Especially with Men). Spayed/Neutered: Yes Chipped: Yes Papers: No Suitable with: Other Dogs Say hello to Luna. She is a 5yr old husky cross with high GSD tendencies. Luna has trust issues and will need a significant time to settle in and create a bond. Once this bond has been created, she will be very loving and affectionate. She does not have any food aggression towards people, but does have a sensitive stomach so a strict diet must be followed. She enjoys being groomed, and tends to watch and follow you for guidance and loves to be praised. She pulls on a harness but walks very much better on a collar. Luna is very vocal when left alone, so would benefit from someone being at home a lot. Luna loves other dogs and likes to play, but can be dominant when meeting at first. She’s wary of new people and can take time to trust them. She is crate trained and loves a comfortable crate with plenty of blankets. Regular meets in order to start to build a bond will be needed at first. *NO CHILDREN UNFORTUNATELY *DOES BOND BETTER WITH A FEMALE, SO ANY MALES IN THE HOUSEHOLD MAY TAKE LONGER TO BOND WITH HER *EXPERIENCED HOUSEHOLDS ONLY NEED TO APPLY *A NUMBER OF MEETS WILL BE NEEDED FIRST *TIME AND PATIENCE ARE A MUST AND A WILLING TO UNDERSTAND HER NEEDS ARE A NECESSITY Once this girl trusts you, you will it back tenfold **All meets will be arranged to follow strict Covid 19 Guidelines to protect both yourselves and us.**

About Luna

What life with Luna looks like

Luna is a adult husky dog waiting at Sibes and Sled Dogs Husky Welfare (SASD) in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Sibes and Sled Dogs Husky Welfare (SASD) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Sibes and Sled Dogs Husky Welfare (SASD) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Sibes and Sled Dogs Husky Welfare (SASD) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
