Luna

Mixed Breed Cat · Female

Description Luna was placed at a location where other cats lived, but she longed for human company. She chased after every passerby, seeking some attention. We couldn't look away and saved her. Currently, she is recovering at a foster home, but she longs for her own family. Her Story & Health: Luna has a medical history that does not limit her in any way. • One-eyed, but full of joy: One eye had to be surgically removed because she was completely blind in it. • Vision: She had a growth on the other eye. Thanks to intensive treatment with medication, this has improved significantly, and she still has some residual vision. • Well-cared for: Luna is already neutered, microchipped, vaccinated (including rabies), and dewormed. Additionally, she was tested negative for infectious diseases. • Her Personality: Luna is simply a treasure! She is incredibly loving, cuddly, and age-appropriately playful. She prefers to lie directly on her humans, enjoys every pat, and seeks the closeness to the two-legged ones. Despite her past, she has not lost her trust in humans. Would you like to be Luna's rock in the storm and give her the loving home she so deserves? The animal that is being presented here comes from an animal shelter/foster home that houses many animals. For these animals, we are searching for a home for a loving and safe life. The descriptions are brief because there simply isn't time for detailed descriptions during the daily work of caring for all the animals. If interested, a more detailed description can be requested by sending your questions directly to the provided email address. We will try to answer these as soon as possible. Home sought For Luna, we are searching for a loving, understanding home. Our cats come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and with an EU passport, if their age and health condition allow it. Additionally, they are tested for FELV/FIV. We look forward to your contact. This animal was abandoned.

About Luna

What life with Luna looks like

Luna is a adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
