Luna

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Mixed-breed girl Luna wants to arrive The little Luna is one of the puppies that were taken in together with her four siblings at our Bulgarian shelter. Now she too is waiting to travel to her own home or a loving foster home in August. Luna is an open, affectionate and playful little dog. She greets people kindly and curiously and enjoys every attention. She also gets along well with other dogs and shows herself socially compatible. Just like any puppy, she explores her surroundings with great joy. Of course, Luna still has a lot to learn. She doesn't know the dog ABC yet. Things like house training, being alone or driving need to be learned together with her humans. That's why we wish for a home that gives her time in peace to settle in with patience, loving consistency and understanding. Luna wants to discover the world with her family, learn new things, play and romp around, but also enjoy cuddling times together. A puppy brings a lot of joy into the house, but it also needs time, patience and love. Who would like to show Luna how beautiful a home can be and give her the chance at a happy dog life? Adopting an animal from a shelter always means taking on special responsibility and can also become a challenge. The dogs bring a backpack with past experiences or unlearned situations and need time to settle into their new lives. If you are seriously interested in adopting Luna, please contact the responsible SALVA Hundehilfe caregiver. We would also be very happy about the provision of a foster home. Here is Luna's video

About Luna

What life with Luna looks like

Luna is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
