Luna

Mixed Breed Β· Female Β· Adult Β· 7 years

Luna is a loving and energetic 7yr old Lurcher cross looking for a foster or forever home through Earth Dragons Dog Sanctuary in Ashford, Kent. Sadly through no fault of her own she has found herself back in kennels which is no place for her, and she really doesn't like it. Let's find Luna her perfect forever home ! Luna came from a highly populated busy household and had been used to breeding. She was knocked down by a car and has sadly lost one of her legs. Her zest for life and love of humans has not been dented and she is the most loving and low maintenance dog you could hope for. She is pretty ambivalent around other dogs, so could live with doggy chums or be the only dog in the home. Being part Lurcher her prey drive is high so she cannot live with cats or other small furries. Luna could live with respectful and calm children that know not to get Luna excited. She is incredibly loving and enjoys snoozing a lot of the time and just relaxing. She adores chasing her ball and has to be reminded not to overdo things. She moves easily with her missing leg when she is off lead and can make her own pace. She seems to find it easier to run than to walk. Her recall is excellent. Luna travels well in the car, is able to jump in and out with ease, and would love nothing more than to accompany her new humans on days out. Once home she will snooze and snuggle up peacefully dreaming of the best day out she has ever had ! She is a playful and energetic girl and loves her toys. She can be a bit of a chewer of the softer ones, so is given Kongs and similar to play with. Tuggie is one of her favourite toys ! She is quite the high jumper, so needs a secure garden with good fencing and people around for lots of the time as she is not used to being left alone. Perhaps an active retired/semi retired couple are looking for an affectionate and loving addition to the family ? β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” If you can give loving Luna her forever home, or would like to find out more, please contact Earth Dragons Dog Sanctuary below: Email : Please mention that you saw Luna on Oldies Club website.

About Luna

What life with Luna looks like

Luna is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at The Oldies Club in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Oldies Club handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” The Oldies Club will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Luna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Oldies Club early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
