adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Luna has found her very own home! Her story: Cluj, Romania. Attention, attention! We want to introduce you to a particularly sweet girl gang. Their members are Kiwi, Bine, Struffi, and Luna, and they are all sweet puppies looking for a wonderful home. The adorable foursome were found alone and abandoned, and our Romanian colleagues were luckily able to save them from certain death. The second one to introduce herself is Luna. Currently, she is 4 months old and weighs around 11 kg at a height of 40 cm. We suspect she will be a medium-sized dog. She is also playful and open-minded, as well as cuddly and super compatible with her fellow animals. When we found Luna, she had an old fracture of the shin and calf bone. We operated on it, and she has a rod in her leg for stabilization. She is doing great and is now free of pain. During her spaying, this will be removed. Soon, Luna will enter puberty. During this hormone chaos, she will test her owners and push the boundaries. She is looking for someone who can stand by her during this time and provide her with the necessary understanding and support so that she can grow into a great dog. Positive training and loving consequences will help her get through this time well and emerge as a strong team. Because Luna would never deliberately annoy you. She can often be caught off guard by her behavior during this tumultuous time and hopes that you will always stand behind her during this difficult time. Children living in the household should already be old enough to understand the new companion and not misunderstand. It would certainly be time now to find new friends in dog training classes and finally be allowed to "learn something" – maybe with you? She is eager to learn the dog ABC and form new friendships. Luna will be microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas in her new home. She will of course bring her EU pet passport with her. For an adoption fee of 500 Euros and only after a positive review, many thanks to Susanne M.! You gave Luna her sweet name. As of: 15.04.

Vielen Dank Susanne M.! Du hast Luna ihren süßen Namen geschenkt. Stand: 15.04.2024

About Luna

What life with Luna looks like

Luna is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
