Adopt Luna

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 3 months

Size: Current size cannot yet be estimated; travel arrangements are scheduled to begin in September. Location: Romania Luna – her name means "Moon," and she exudes the same: gentle, quiet, somehow magical. Despite her young age, Luna is still a very small puppy, only three months old. Far too young to grow up alone in a crowded shelter, surrounded by noise, cramped conditions, and uncertainty. Instead of a soft dog bed, loving hands, and playful discoveries, Luna is experiencing how hard life can be for a young puppy. And yet: hope sparkles in her eyes. She carries this quiet longing within her – for a home, for security, for a person who will show her that the world can be beautiful. Luna is typical of her age, curious, open, and eager to learn. She needs someone to guide her through life, teach her the basics of being a dog, and show her how trust grows. With love and patience, Luna will grow into a wonderful companion – loyal, gentle, and full of heart. Who will pull Luna out of the shadows into the light? Who will give her not just a home, but a full life – warm, safe, and filled with love? Luna is currently vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, not yet neutered, and has been checked by a veterinarian, holding an EU pet passport. All our dogs travel with official trace documents and Paragraph 11 approval to Germany. Our dogs are also tested for Mediterranean diseases via a rapid test. The adoption fee is 500€ plus 30€ for the purchase of safety gear. Note: When we assign our dogs to certain breeds, we base our decision solely on their outward appearance and observable behavior (phenotype). This assignment is made with the best of intentions and knowledge by the club and the involved veterinarians. However, these descriptions do not necessarily reflect the actual genetic makeup (genotype), as a DNA analysis would be required for that. Furthermore, the behavioral and character description of each animal is based on careful observations by animal welfare workers at the intake facilities or by the respective foster homes. It should be noted that these assessments are based solely on the current local conditions at the intake facilities or foster homes.

About Luna

What life with Luna looks like

Luna is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Rescued Souls e.V. in Pfinztal.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rescued Souls e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rescued Souls e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rescued Souls e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
