Adopt Lupe

Female · Young · 3 years

Lupe was born around the end of November 2022 and is currently in Spain. There, she lived with her little kitten, Lupita, who has already found her happy home. The tabby female cat with a gentle nature and a loving gaze that touches the heart. She was found with her newborn kitten, Lupita, in the garden of an elderly lady in Spain. This kind woman took care of the small family and eventually contacted our Spanish partners to give them a secure future. In the care of our partners, Lupe could raise her kitten in peace and security – a loving mother who dedicated herself to her task. Now it's time for Lupe to find her own beautiful home where she can rest and simply be a cat. Lupe is friendly, social, and very people-oriented. She wishes for a quiet home with a heart, preferably with a secure balcony or garden where she can enjoy the sun. Since Lupe likes other cats, we hope for her to have a home with nice feline company. If there are no fellow animals yet in her future happy home, she would be happy to bring one of her friends along. She also gets along well with dogs. Lupe is vaccinated, dewormed, neutered, and microchipped upon entry. The tests for FIV and FeLV were already negative. Whoever gives Lupe a home will not only receive a beautiful cat but also a soul full of warmth and gratitude. Who will give Lupe her HappyHome?

About Lupe

What life with Lupe looks like

Lupe is a large young adult cat waiting at Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lupe, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lupe?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lupe on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lupe if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lupe already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lupe isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lupe and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
