Luzak

Male · Senior · 11 years

Luzak spent many years knowing only life on a chain next to a utility box. He was taken from his owner due to poor conditions and ended up at an animal shelter. He could have lost his trust in people. He could have closed himself off and turned away from the world. However, it turned out completely differently. Luzak is one of the most cheerful, friendly, and dog-loving dogs you can meet. Despite what he experienced, he still looks at people with hope, joy, and immense trust. Upon seeing a person, his tail immediately starts wagging, and a characteristic smile appears on his muzzle. As if every new day is a fresh chance for happiness. This is a dog who seeks contact with people through his entire being. He loves shared walks, petting, closeness, and the simple presence of a human. He is incredibly warm, kind, and devoted. In his eyes, one can see a huge need to be someone’s beloved dog. Luzak walks beautifully on a leash. He does not seek conflicts, does not bother other dogs, and does not cause problems during walks. For him, the most important thing is a person. He willingly walks alongside, observes the caregiver, and enjoys every shared moment. He has already participated in multiple Adopt a Warsaw Dog events, and the city does not present a problem for him. He travels by bus and car beautifully, with a keen interest in exploring the surroundings, and the city’s noise does not stress him out. A true city dog. He is also a very intelligent and cooperative dog. He learns quickly, adapts well to new situations, and enjoys working with a human. During trips and walks, he has repeatedly shown that he not only has a big heart but also a sharp mind. Although it seemed for a long time that people were the whole of his world, Luzak has also opened up to interactions with other dogs. He finds his place well in their company and can function harmoniously with canine companions. He lived in a run with a spaniel. He is a dog of blood and bone. One who would happily accompany on walks, excursions, and daily life, and in the evening simply lie down beside his human and be happy to be together. After years spent on a chain, he deserves more than a shelter box. He deserves love, safety, and a human who will show him every day how big his heart is.

PL·Show original

Został odebrany właścicielowi z powodu złych warunków i trafił do schroniska. Mógł stracić zaufanie do ludzi. Luzak to jeden z najbardziej pogodnych, przyjaznych i zakochanych w człowieku psów, jakie można spotkać. Uwielbia wspólne spacery, głaskanie, bliskość i zwyczajną obecność człowieka. Pięknie podróżuje autobusem i samochodem, z zaciekawieniem zwiedza okolice, miejski gwar go nie stresuje. Prawdziwy miejski pies. About Luzak

What life with Luzak looks like

Luzak is a medium-sized senior dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Ongoing medical diagnostics in progress

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luzak, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luzak?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luzak on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luzak if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luzak already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luzak isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luzak and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
