Luzie

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Luzie has found a home! Her story: 26810 Westoverledingen. Luzie can travel to Westoverledingen in late February and start looking for her own home from there. There are dogs who capture your heart with a glance, a picture, or a video. Luzie is one of them. She is simply crazy, open, playful, and an absolute treasure. She is also very smart, she immediately understood that people find it fun when she gives her paw and just pats everywhere. Then people laugh and are happy, and Luzie is happy. She is simply a dog who says: Hello world, here I am. What nice things can you offer me? In her foster family, she will learn to meet other dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, and all other four-legged friends. She lives on a pony farm and plays all day, makes silly stuff, and is cuddled by the riding students. She thoroughly enjoys pack life and has a lot of fun! She currently weighs about 5kg and will reach a not-too-big size when fully grown. Our dear Luzie will soon enter puberty. A lot of patience, empathy, and of course a thick portion of humor are needed here. An additional visit to a positively working dog training class is only recommended. We are, however, sure that with lots of love and understanding, our Luzie will be a wonderful companion! Luzie does not know life in a house and therefore needs to learn the whole dog ABC from scratch. She will surely need some time to adjust to her new life. She is, however, also quite feisty, and the new family should keep an eye on her and challenge and nurture her enough. Originally, she came from Cluj and lived there with her brother Hajo. Luzie joins her family microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She brings an EU pet passport with her and will only be placed after a positive home visit. Many thanks to Bea! You gave Luzie a name and thus an identity!

Was könnt ihr mir Nettes bieten? Vielen Dank an Bea!

About Luzie

What life with Luzie looks like

Luzie is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luzie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luzie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luzie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luzie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luzie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luzie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luzie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
