Macaroni & Penne

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Kitten

Personality:Both girls came into our care from a multi-cat household so when they first arrived, they were understandably frightened. They are becoming more confident now with a slow movement and quiet approach. Macaroni is the braver of the two and on her own terms, she will initiate for some gentle strokes. Penne is comfortable with being in socialisers presence and will engage in play with a variety of toys. She currently shy’s away from hands on interactions and we believe that out of this environment, she will feel more comfortable to approach. Behaviour:They spend a lot of time curled up in the bed at the front of their unit watching the surroundings around them. They have been observed playing together with their toys or each other, but they can also play independently. When socialisers are with them, Macaroni will build her trust and once she does, she will purr and enjoy the attention. Penne likes to interact with the stick toys and will be keen to chase and catch them. They will need their adopter to have a patient and respectful approach to give them the best opportunity to settle in well. Housing:Macaroni and Penne prefer the safety of their unit and find new surroundings a little scary, so for this reason they will need their own unused room or a quiet space set up for them to initially settle in before exploring the rest of the property, and eventually a garden. Please note that adopters will need to ensure they have plenty of resources for them both; between 18 months old and 4 years old they could become more independent and not spend as much time with each other. They cannot be homed in Havant Po9 area. Children/pets:They will need to be the only pets in the household due to their nervous nature and to give them the best chance at settling. They could live with an older secondary school children who will give them time to settle and will follow a calm approach. Vet history:Macaroni and Penne are neutered, microchipped, flea and wormed. Their second vaccination is due between 14/10 – 20/10 at the shelter and the cost is included in the adoption fee. Macaroni and Penne have no known medical conditions. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption. Adoption fee:The adoption fee is £210. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated. About Macaroni & Penne

What life with Macaroni & Penne looks like

Macaroni & Penne is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat cat waiting at RSPCA Solent Branch CIO - The Stubbington Ark in United Kingdom.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Macaroni & Penne, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Macaroni & Penne?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Solent Branch CIO - The Stubbington Ark handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Macaroni & Penne on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Macaroni & Penne if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Solent Branch CIO - The Stubbington Ark will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Macaroni & Penne already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Macaroni & Penne isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Solent Branch CIO - The Stubbington Ark early rather than rehoming privately; they know Macaroni & Penne and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
