Mai Tai

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Bold, playful, curious, and self-confident—seven little puppies, all alone, helpless, and without their mother. They were found after a caring woman first took them in and eventually asked us for help. We’ve welcomed these tiny pups into our animal shelter. They’re part of countless litters we’d love to rescue—but our capacity is long since exhausted, and every day we’re confronted with the painful reality that we simply can’t save them all. These seven puppies were lucky. They’ve been given the chance for a safe, loving life filled with care, warmth, and hope. Now, we wish each of them a loving home where they can finally grow up carefree. Every rescued soul reminds us why we keep going—and at the same time, it reminds us how many animals are still waiting for their chance. Now we’d like to introduce you to our seven little charges, one by one. Each of them already has her own distinct personality, and we’re excited to see how they’ll continue to develop. Mai Tai is a real bundle of energy. She’s bold, curious, and always right at the front of the pack. She absolutely loves attention, and if she doesn’t like something, she’ll let you know—in no uncertain terms! A little personality with plenty of charm. All the puppies will be ready to go starting at the end of August and are looking forward to finding loving families who’ll show them—with patience and understanding—just how wonderful a sheltered dog life can be. They’ll be ready to leave at the end of August. Their adult size is estimated to be 50–55 cm. All are vaccinated, microchipped, and have an EU pet passport. They’ll also be tested for Mediterranean diseases according to their age. See our website for more details. Every dog we place makes room for one of those dogs who are starving and emaciated, struggling to survive. PLACE OF STAY

About Mai Tai

What life with Mai Tai looks like

Mai Tai is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. in Greece.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇷Adopting from Greece

Greek shelters often partner with Northern European rescue groups for placements. Animals are sterilized, vaccinated, and chipped before adoption. Fees vary widely depending on whether the shelter is municipal or NGO-run.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mai Tai, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mai Tai?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mai Tai on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mai Tai if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mai Tai already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mai Tai isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mai Tai and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
