Makkmarci

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Makkmarci is a mixed breed male born around December 2020, who was taken to the Ózdi municipal pound where he was injured. His back was literally stripped (or was stripped). He was immediately taken to the Délpesti Állatgyógyászati Központ. Our little flower with the stripped back has recovered, slowly but steadily we moved forward. It was a long process that this little miracle patiently and cooperatively endured. We went to laser treatment with Marcika twice a week so that the wound would completely heal. There is now only a "small" palm-sized scar on Makkmarci's back reminding of the difficult beginning. Marcika has become a very lively, smart, energetic teenager, who when sufficiently tired (mentally as well), is one of the cutest little dogs in the world. We are looking for a guardian for him who can erase all the bad things he experienced during his short life and prove to him that life is beautiful and that he is also a worthy companion to humans. He can bring a lot of joy and happiness to his beloved guardian. We are looking exclusively for a home where he can be a full-fledged family member.

Makkmarci kb. 2020. decemberi születésű keverék kanocska, akinek az Ózdi Gyepmesteri Telep kért segítséget, ahova sérülten került. Szó szerint megnyúzódott (vagy megnyúzták) a hátát. Azonnal a Délpesti Állatgyógyászati Központba került. About Makkmarci

What life with Makkmarci looks like

Makkmarci is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Has healed back injury with small palm-sized scar from previous trauma

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Makkmarci, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Makkmarci?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Makkmarci on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Makkmarci if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Makkmarci already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Makkmarci isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Makkmarci and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
