Mala

Female · Adult · 5 years

This beautiful and delicate kitten is Mala. She once had a home and very much desires to be loved again. At the beginning of her stay at the animal shelter Mala, she was in a cage, and it was clear that the new place, the noises, the smells, and the overload of stimuli heavily overwhelmed her. She was disoriented and needed time to find her way in this difficult situation. At the same time, from the start, she showed something very important—contact with a human has great significance for her. Mala calls out to people, seeks closeness, and very much wants to be noticed. This is a kitten who loves being with people, willingly climbs onto laps, and enjoys being petted. Closeness gives her a sense of security, but Mala also has her own opinion. When she shows that for the moment it is enough, one must respect her boundaries and allow her to decide about further contact. This is an energetic kitten. She is only 4 years old and very much needs the opportunity to use her energy for play, movement, and cat activities. Play will be not only for her a form of entertainment but also an important way to release emotions and build a relationship with the caregiver. Mala is a kitten who decides what to do and with whom. She needs a home that will love her personality, understand her need for contact, but also respect her independence. With a careful, patient person, she will be able to feel safe, flourish, and again enjoy life by someone’s side who loves her. Mala urgently seeks a home—a warm bed, space for play, laps to rest on, and a person who will love her wisely, with tenderness, and respect. Before adoption, we invite you to fill out the pre-adoption survey and come to the animal shelter with a completed survey: Before adoption, make sure your home or apartment is safe and properly prepared to welcome a new family member. Note: When deciding to adopt a cat or considering it, be sure to bring a cat carrier or transport bag to the animal shelter.

Ta piękna i drobna koteczka to Mala. To kicia pełna energii. Mala pilnie szuka domku — takiego, w którym będzie miała ciepłe posłanko, przestrzeń do zabawy, kolana do odpoczynku i człowieka, który będzie ją kochał mądrze, z czułością i szacunkiem.

About Mala

What life with Mala looks like

Mala is a small adult cat waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Note from the shelter: Recently treated for dermatophytosis (fungal skin infection), stress-related behavioral issues, needs time to adjust

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mala, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mala?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mala on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mala if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mala already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mala isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mala and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
