Malarz

Male · Adult · 4 years

Malarz is a 3-year-old male cat with a beautiful white and cream coat and an even more beautiful heart. The character of Malarz is truly special - calm, gentle and extremely trusting towards people. He came to us after a traffic accident, but despite difficult experiences, he has not lost his joy of life or his faith in humans. On the contrary - he still seeks warmth, closeness and contact with a caregiver. He is cheerful, patient and very brave. He calmly endures veterinary procedures, and his trust and openness can move to tears. This is a male cat with a huge heart who can really bless a person with love. He will be a wonderful, loyal companion for daily life. The health status of Malarz arrived at the animal shelter as a road accident cat. After admission, he had surgery on the pelvis - today he functions normally and this injury does not limit him in daily life. Previously, a surgical procedure was also performed, which involved suturing the urinary tract. It sometimes happens that he urinates outside the litter box, so further observation and careful, understanding caregiver is required. Malarz is a carrier of the FIV virus. This virus does not pose a threat to humans or other animal species, and with responsible care, the cat can live long and comfortably. He can be adopted as a single or into a home where another cat is already an FIV carrier. Currently, Malarz is in a cat hospital, where he is undergoing anti-parasitic treatment, which can easily be completed at the adoptive home. We are looking for a person or a home for Malarz who will give him what he needs most: love, peace and a feeling of safety forever. If you want to give this extraordinary little tomcat a chance for a better life - contact us. Malarz really deserves it. A conversation with a vet is recommended before adoption. We invite you to review the pre-adoption questionnaire and come to the animal shelter with the completed questionnaire: Before adoption, make sure your home / apartment is safe and appropriately prepared for receiving a new family member. Attention: When deciding to adopt a cat or considering it, take a carrier or a transport bag for cats to the animal shelter.

Malarz to 3-letni kocurek o przepięknym biało-biszkoptowym futerku i jeszcze piękniejszym wnętrzu. Charakter Malarz to kot wyjątkowy – spokojny, łagodny i niezwykle ufny wobec ludzi. Wręcz przeciwnie – wciąż szuka ciepła, bliskości i kontaktu z opiekunem.

About Malarz

What life with Malarz looks like

Malarz is a small adult cat waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Note from the shelter: FIV positive, history of pelvic surgery, urethral surgery, occasional inappropriate urination, requires ongoing antiparasitic treatment

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Malarz, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Malarz?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Malarz on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Malarz if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Malarz already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Malarz isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Malarz and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
