Malinka

Mixed Breed · Female

Malinka is an extremely delicate female dog who lived in uncertainty and loneliness as a stray for a long time. Her life at the animal shelter is filled with fear and insecurity - Malinka never had the chance to experience joyful moments spent by a person's side. When someone approaches her kennel, she often hides in its corner, watching the surroundings with distrust. Despite her fears, Malinka finds her way well in the company of other dogs. In their presence she gains a little courage, although she still chooses safe places where she feels less threatened. If someone gains her trust, Malinka can allow herself to be petted and can be picked up, put into a harness and collar, but in situations that overwhelm her, she may try to scare away potential danger by biting at the air or trying to catch a person. This is not an attack, but her way of expressing fear. Malinka still has a lot to learn - she does not know how to walk on a leash and is terrified of it. We are working with her on this, but we know it requires time and patience. We hope someone sees the potential for love in her sad eyes and gets involved in her socialization, to introduce her to a normal life, free from fear and stress. Malinka deserves a home full of warmth and understanding, where she can feel safe again.

PL·Show original

About Malinka

What life with Malinka looks like

Malinka is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Czekadełko in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Malinka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Malinka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Czekadełko handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Malinka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Malinka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Czekadełko will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Malinka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Malinka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Czekadełko early rather than rehoming privately; they know Malinka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
