Malwa

Female · Puppy · 10 months

Malwa is a nearly one-year-old female dog who shows every day that even the greatest fear can be overcome with patience and kindness. When she first arrived at the shelter, she was afraid to leave her kennel and preferred to hide from the world. Today, she’s making tremendous progress—venturing out on walks with increasing bravery, exploring new places, and gaining confidence with each passing day. She’s a gentle and highly sensitive dog who needs time to trust. Once she feels safe, she builds a strong bond with her caregiver, fully engaging and investing herself in the relationship. She loves staying close, often looking up at her handler and attentively responding to their cues. Being together gives her a sense of security. On the leash, she’s getting better and better. Although her beginnings were filled with excitement, today she can calmly walk on a loose leash and explore the world with curiosity. New people, other dogs, or unexpected noises still pose challenges for her, which is why we’re looking for a calm home that will give her the time, patience, and space she needs to build her confidence—a home where no one expects her to become brave from day one. She doesn’t need much; she just needs someone who’ll show her that the world can be a good place. She’ll take care of the rest herself. If you’re looking for a young female dog with whom you can gradually build an extraordinary bond, she might just be waiting for you. Agata 606294250 Behaviorist 514360970

Agata 606294250 Behawiorystka 514360970

About Malwa

What life with Malwa looks like

Malwa is a small puppy/kitten dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Malwa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Malwa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Malwa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Malwa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Malwa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Malwa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Malwa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
