Adoption Requirements Adoption Process Request this animal now! Adoption Requirements Adoption Process Mandarina has found her people! Her story: Zalau, Romania. A black beauty is looking for a loving family! Little Mandarina saved herself from certain death. The tiny 4-month-old girl was thrown over the fence into our animal protector’s garden, where several dogs live. Surprisingly, the tiny Mandarina managed to climb up a tree, keeping herself safe from the dogs and waiting patiently until someone found her—which fortunately our animal protector did. Mandarina has proven herself to be a true fighter, and now she continues to fight until she finds a family 🙂 Mandarina is now waiting in our cat room in Zalau for her departure. The sweet little lady has settled in super quickly and has become friends with all the cats already living there. As is typical, she still plays a lot and shows age-appropriate energy and activity. She is very social when interacting with other cats and proves to be absolutely easygoing. We are looking exclusively for a home for Mandarina where she won’t be the only cat. She’d be thrilled to have a roughly same-age cat as a companion, but she’d also happily bring one of her friends along if there isn’t yet a kitten waiting for her. We also place her exclusively as an indoor-only cat. And don’t forget—you’ll be welcoming a truly sweet cuddlebug into your home with Mandarina. She demonstrates her lovable nature at all times around people too, and absolutely loves attention, affection, and petting. So all in all, Mandarina is a dreamy young cat who is easygoing and wants nothing more than to enjoy her life. Of course, Mandarina will be spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated upon her departure. She’ll also have an EU pet passport and, after a positive pre-adoption check and payment of a protection fee of 215 euros, will be delighted to move into her forever home. Mandarina has already packed her little suitcase and is eagerly awaiting her departure. Many thanks to Ute P.—you’ve given Mandarina her sweet name!

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Mandarina hat ihre Menschen gefunden! Ihre Geschichte: Zalau, Rumänien. Schönheit in schwarz sucht Familienanschluss!

About Mandarina

What life with Mandarina looks like

Mandarina is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mandarina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mandarina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mandarina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mandarina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mandarina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mandarina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mandarina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
