Mandarine

Female · Adult · 4 years

MANDARINE, a beautiful orange tabby cat (very rare for a female), has been waiting for over a year for an association to fall in love with her. Her foster family must leave Guadeloupe, and Mandarine was to be rehomed on a feeding site run by volunteers, though it was in danger every day. Her foster family has done everything to find her an association or a family. MANDARINE is a very gentle kitten who would find a place in a calm family. She loves to sleep in the sun on the house's rug. Very discrete, she doesn't cause any trouble with other cats. MANDARINE is part of the exceptional rescue of some cats from Guadeloupe. Indeed, some foster families having to return to metropolitan France couldn't wait any longer. There was no solution for them except to return to the feeding sites where hundreds of cats are in great danger of being poisoned, captured by the private pound to be euthanized, or even worse, tortured by malicious individuals. These cats, accustomed to family life, are very social. The fairies of COPA Guadeloupe (a partner association) who do a lot for them have asked us to save some of them. We have too many cats, certainly, but too many cats who have been dropped off and are wild and will never be adopted. They do not take the place of other cats because the demand for very social and cuddly family cats is great, and we cannot always satisfy our visitors. If you are tempted by one of these cats, be warned, you will have to give us updates because the volunteers in Guadeloupe are very attached to their little cats who arrived so miserable that they have cared for and loved them until their departure. A small note is written at the end of the health record. More information on our website in the contact section or by phone in the afternoon.

About Mandarine

What life with Mandarine looks like

Mandarine is a small adult cat waiting at 30 Millions d'Amis in Paris.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mandarine, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mandarine?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. 30 Millions d'Amis handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mandarine on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mandarine if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — 30 Millions d'Amis will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mandarine already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mandarine isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with 30 Millions d'Amis early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mandarine and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
