adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! The two brothers Mani and Tikaani have particularly had to struggle with their sad fate, for they know no life with humans. Their owner passed away, and no one wanted to take in the dogs. Therefore, the two friendly male dogs were picked up by the dog catchers and brought to the Public Shelter in Baia Mare. Now, lost and disappointed, the loyal dogs no longer understand the world. Mani cries and mourns very much because his brother Tikaani had to undergo an operation and is now housed in the clinic. It is very sad to see how much the friendly dog suffers under his loneliness. Therefore, we want to do everything we can to rehome Mani as quickly as possible with loving and dog-savvy people who can show him how beautiful life as a beloved family dog can be. Mani and Tikaani are not young anymore and have certainly gathered some experiences living with people. Perhaps not always positive, we do not know. But we can only make all interested parties very brave, because with love and patience, the great male dog will certainly build an incomparable beautiful bond and relationship with his new people. Mani is estimated to be around 10 years old and with a shoulder height of about 60 cm and a weight of about 30 kg, he belongs to the medium to large-sized dogs. He has black-brown, dense fur, beautiful, shiny eyes, and a glossy black nose. Mani has a friendly and expressive face, and with much love, care, and good food, he will certainly develop into an impressive beauty. Although Mani already had an owner, he probably has never lived in a house and must learn the rules for a house and family dog. But he is an intelligent male dog who tries to always do everything right. Therefore, we also recommend cooperation with a positively working dog training class. Joint training of human and dog will certainly contribute to building mutual trust and keeping the strong male dog busy. We wish for patient, loving adopters who are looking forward to giving the wonderful Mani new hope and confidence. His new family should have plenty of time for mental stimulation with the intelligent male dog and offer him sufficient contact with fellow animals, because Mani not only loves people, he also likes fellow animals very much. Mani is a large, strong, and self-assured dog whose character has already solidified. Therefore, it would be desirable if his future people already have some dog experience and can offer him friendly but firm leadership. We would also be very happy about a foster home for Mani, where he can already make the first steps on the way to a happy house dog. Due to his appearance, sheepdog genes cannot be ruled out. Mani can now be microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, dewormed, and treated for fleas with an EU pet passport to travel to his new home. He will be traveling after a positive our area to the attention of Margit M., who gave Mani his name and thus a new identity. As of: 09.06.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Mani

What life with Mani looks like

Mani is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mani, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mani?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mani on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mani if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mani already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mani isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mani and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
