Adopt Manni

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

MANNI – tabby DSH tomcat, born 2017, suitable for apartment living or outdoor access, tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Friendly and affectionate with a calm temperament, yet still agile and playful. Can be visited in ZIP code: 82008 Unterhaching. Well-suited as an only cat ("Einzelprinz"), but also gets along with other cats. Contact: Regina Ledersberger, Manni 9 y.o. friendly and affectionate indoor tomcat, ideal as an only cat, second cat, or with a feline housemate. Who’s looking for a wonderful tomcat in his prime? Manni, born in 2017, is a proud, trusting, and cuddly tabby tomcat who has been searching for a forever home since April 2024. He’s very clingy and loves cuddles—if given the attention he craves, his purr motor starts right away. If you’d like to give a confident, clever senior tomcat full of charm and personality a loving home, Manni is your perfect match. 😊 Manni is still quite playful and agile for his age—he’ll chase plush mice or balls and enjoys mental stimulation with a wand toy. He’d certainly be happy as a pampered only cat without any furry competition, as he loves having your full attention. However, Manni generally does get along well with other cats (he previously lived with a female cat, and currently shares his space with a 3-year-old housemate named Michi—a red tabby who is also friendly but has a somewhat moody/difficult personality; Manni manages just fine with him). Therefore, Manni could potentially move in with another temperamentally compatible cat/tomcat or even be rehomed together with his current housemate (though they get along, they aren’t close friends). Manni is an easygoing and litter-trained companion—but he’s still very much a typical tomcat. That means he might occasionally scratch furniture/wallpaper/carpet, shred newspapers, dig in potted plants, or even knock things over—after all, he’s a living cat, not a stuffed toy! Manni has tested negative for FIV and FeLV and is in good health. He’s looking for a lovely home either in an apartment-living setup (ideally with a balcony—please ensure it’s securely cat-proofed with netting) or with outdoor access in a quiet residential area (for outdoor access, please avoid urban environments, railway tracks, subway entrances, or heavily trafficked roads nearby). Manni is neutered, dewormed, vaccinated, and microchipped.

MANNI – getigerter EKH Kater geb.

About Manni

What life with Manni looks like

Manni is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Starnberg in Starnberg.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Manni, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Manni?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Starnberg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Manni on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Manni if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Starnberg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Manni already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Manni isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Starnberg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Manni and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
