adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Manolito has found his people! His story: Manolito, affectionately named Nicki by his foster parents, was found alone with his two siblings, Bubi and Piccolo, at just ten weeks old on a busy street in Romania. At such a young age, without his mother, he likely wouldn't have survived long. Manolito and his brothers were lucky to find a safe foster family where they were lovingly cared for. However, he cannot stay there and is desperately in need of a wonderful home. Each of the puppy siblings is unique, some bigger or smaller, with spots or streaked fur. This diversity makes breed identification difficult. With his approximate weight of 6 kilograms, we assume he will likely stay small or at most medium-sized as an adult, though we cannot say for certain as we do not know his parents. Manolito is a real standout with his black-and-white fur, especially his white socks and the white spot on his chin. The daily life of the little wonder and his siblings currently consists of all the wonderful things that come with being a puppy: playing, running around, snuggling with the foster parents, siblings, and of course, the cats that roam around. The little adventurer is very curious, friendly, and cheerful and will surely make a wonderful lifelong companion. However, Manolito will still need a lot of support and patience as he embarks on his life journey. Both everyday life and puppy school for a house puppy will be particularly important for him, as he is about to enter puberty and will likely test his boundaries, needing additional guidance and orientation. Adequate exercise, playful mental stimulation, and of course, lots of cuddles will be the guarantee for a happy life. Manolito has not yet undergone a spay or neuter procedure due to his age. Many thanks to Betty S.! You named Manolito. A big thank you also goes to Julia V., who took on a monthly sponsorship for Manolito. As of: 09.01. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 09.01.2025

About Manolito

What life with Manolito looks like

Manolito is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Manolito, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Manolito?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Manolito on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Manolito if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Manolito already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Manolito isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Manolito and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
