Mantra

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Mantra – young mixed-breed female dog seeks people for the adventure life Mantra is a young mixed-breed female dog who is just at the beginning of her life. Like every young dog, she should be discovering the world, gathering experiences, and learning step by step how to live together with people. Instead, she is currently growing up in the animal shelter. The cute female dog shows herself to be friendly, open, and full of energy there. She enjoys contact with people and appears curious about everything that happens around her. Naturally, she is still at the very beginning of her development and needs people who are ready to give her orientation and security. With other dogs, Mantra seems to have a lot of fun. Currently, she shares her pen with the male dog Mapache, and the two get along very well. They play extensively with each other and enjoy each other's company. Overall, Mantra gives a social and playful impression. Of course, she still has a lot to learn. Potty training, everyday stimuli, being left alone, leash manners, and the many small rules of cohabitation are things that a young dog is not familiar with and must be built up patiently. For Mantra, we wish for people who are consciously willing to take on the responsibility that a dog brings over many years. Young dogs cost time, patience, and nerves – they make mistakes, test boundaries, and need reliable guidance. At the same time, nothing offers as many beautiful steps of joint development as the growth of a young dog. Mantra comes with the best prerequisites: curiosity, joy of life, and the chance to develop into a wonderful companion with the right support. Now she just needs a home where she can finally arrive and begin her future.

About Mantra

What life with Mantra looks like

Mantra is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mantra, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mantra?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mantra on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mantra if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mantra already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mantra isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mantra and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
